Lonke uhlelo lwe-FSR luqukethe izingxenye ezimbili: Iyunithi Yomnikeli kanye Neyunithi Ekude. Zidlulisa ngokusobala futhi zikhulise isignali engenantambo phakathi kwe-BTS (Base Transceiver Station) namaselula nge-RF wave ngamaza ahlukene kusukela ku-BTS.
Iyunithi ye-Donor ithola isignali ye-BTS nge-coupler eqondile evaliwe ku-BTS (noma ngokudluliswa kwe-RF emoyeni ovulekile nge-Donor Antenna), bese iyiguqula isuka kufrikhwensi yokusebenza iye kumafrikhwensi esixhumanisi, bese idlulisela isignali ekhulisiwe ku-Remote Unit nge i-Link Antennas. I-Remote Unit izoguqula isiginali ibe imvamisa yokusebenza futhi inikeze isignali ezindaweni lapho ukutholakala kwenethiwekhi kunganele. Futhi isignali yeselula nayo iyakhuliswa futhi idluliselwe ku-BTS ngendlela ehlukile.
